Applying to Longley Park if you need extra help
Longley Park welcomes applications from students with all kinds of special needs. Our building has been designed to be as accessible as possible and we can provide extra specialist support to help you with your individual needs. We can do this better if you let us know what your needs are as early as possible and we understand that you may wish to do this in confidence.
- Our arrangements to help you include:
- Fully accessible building with ramp and lift access to all areas, and wheelchair accessible toilets
- Transport to and from College for those students with needs that make this journey difficult on public transport.
- Study and Learning Support tailored to your individual needs. This can include special equipment
- Initial screening to help identify any problems with English and Maths that might have been holding you back
- Advice about financial help to secure childcare arrangements
We can discuss any needs you have at the Advisory Interview. If at any time during your course you feel you need further support, this can be accessed through your Progress Tutor or Student Services & Support. Full details of our help for people with disabilities will be published as our Disability Statement in the Student Diary.
Finance
It is possible that before you are able to attend college you will need help in addressing some concerns you may have such as finance, travel, accommodation or childcare issues.
Student Services can inform you about the range of financial support available and will help you to apply for it.
Courses at Longley Park Sixth Form College are free to students who start a course before they are 19. Any textbooks which are essential to your courses will be provided on loan while you are at college.
