The college also offers a range of extra opportunities which you can get involved with. Many students find these some of the most exciting things they do at college. They can be useful extras when it comes to writing university and job applications, and many of them develop useful extra skills and knowledge. The full range available will be publicised at the Freshers Fair in the first week of your course, but the list here gives you an idea of the flavours available!

There are also activities linked to specific subjects and courses such as Language Exchanges and Geography Fieldwork. Some of the trips and events that have taken place over the past year include:
- Art project with the Millennium Galleries and the Tate
- Tall Ships sailing expedition
- Animation workshop for Media students
- Business trip to Berlin
- Sports trip to the Canary Islands
- Language visit to France
We also make sure that you are able to access extra opportunities that will help you in your future career. We have close links with HE institutions and students have been able to take advantage of residential visits to universities and medical schools both locally and further afield.
The College works with a range of local and national businesses to ensure that there are exciting opportunities to access the business world where it is relevant to your studies.
We are also part of the UK Careers Academy. This opportunity is aimed at students studying A Levels and Awards in Business, Business Finance or Law. In the first term of your course you can apply to be involved in the UK Careers Academy scheme, which will give you access to lots of extra experience to enhance your future career, including help and advice from industry specialists and a paid internship with a company during the summer holidays. More information will be available at the start of term.
