A note from the Principal
Welcome to the website for Longley Park Sixth Form College. We specialise in courses for 16-18 year olds and our staff team are dedicated to providing the best possible support to help students ´Stretch their Potential´.
We offer more than 40 A Level courses, as well as BTEC National courses which are the equivalent of 3 A Levels for students who want to specialise in one particular subject area, such as IT or Art and Design. These courses are ideal for applications to university, and our students have been offered places for some of the most competitive Higher Education destinations, including Oxford, Cambridge, Medical and Dental Schools, and the Central School of Speech and Drama. If you need to improve your grades we have courses at Level 1 and Level 2 which will help you to reach your goals.
Whatever your level, you will find the help and support you need. We understand that our students are ambitious and all teachers and staff at the College are committed to ensuring that everyone achieves the best possible result. This means that we expect you to work hard, but we will also make sure that you get individual advice and support that is tailored to you.
The College is a fantastic learning environment with the latest facilities - but there is also a lot going on outside of lessons. There are trips and visits in the UK and abroad, guest speakers, performances and special events designed to help you get the most out of your time here. Media students have recently worked with the South Yorkshire Police to produce a short film that will be used in schools and colleges across the country, and students from our Art, Design, Photography, Textiles and Performing Arts areas will be showcasing their work as part of our Creative Week. Many of our courses involve work experience, and for students who want to develop their careers in Business, we are the first accredited UK Careers Academy centre in South Yorkshire. This exciting scheme gives students the opportunity to work with some of the top businesses in the UK.
