This course is aimed at providing you with a grade C in Science and will build on the biological science you studied at School. You will look at how humans function and their place within the living world. The course also looks at the human body in healthy and diseased states and how health can be improved.
The Diploma in Society, Helath and Development will give you a detailed understanding of the Children and Young People's Services, Health, Community Justice or Social Care Sectors.
The Advanced Diploma is equivalent to 3.5 A Levels, the Progression Diploma is equivalent to 2 A Levels.

You will take part in a combination of classroom based activities and practical sessions in various sports settings including gyms, leisure centres, playing fields and fitness laboratory.

This course will appeal to students who want to go on to further study or employment in the sport and recreation industries. You may be planning a career in Physical Education, Sports Science, Sports Development, Fitness Training, Sports Coaching or Physiotherapy.
The course will cover topics such as Anatomy, Sport and Exercise Psychology, Fitness Testing, Sports Massage, and Principles of Performance and Coaching. You will explore sports development and become involved in community sports and event organisation. Projects and assignments will be based on realistic work situations.

This practical course will develop your understanding of the technical aspects involved in stage productions, and can be taken alongside a wide range of other courses. You will get an insight into the industry through working across an exciting range of technical projects, including sound (live and recorded), lighting, stage management and administering a production or venue. Productions could include children's shows, musicals, Shakespeare, large outdoor events and modern plays.
