Longley Park Sixth Form opened in September 2004. The building was designed by internationally renowned architects Ellis Williams, who also designed the Baltic Centre in Newcastle.
The aim from the start has been to create a world-class environment for post-16 learning which will give you access to the very best facilities and equipment. The quality of the design and building earned the Royal Institute of British Architect’s award for the north of England in 2005.
Longley Park Sixth Form is part of Brigantia Learning Trust.
At the heart of the building is an imaginatively designed plaza with a café and social space. Open throughout the day, the café serves freshly prepared hot and cold food including vegetarian and halal options. Drinks and snacks are also available.
The Multi-Faith Room for staff and students of all faiths and none to use. The room is open for daily prayers and includes male and female sections. We also offer weekly Friday prayers in a bigger hall area and a monthly prayer timetable.
The purpose-built ILC provides the perfect environment for you to study and learn. You will receive an induction to the ILC at the start of the year and we will continue to work with teaching staff to provide guidance in research and information skills, as and when you need it.
Students studying sport at Longley Park Sixth Form have access to excellent facilities on campus and externally. We have a partnership with Sheffield International Venues to base our Sports provision at Concord Sports Centre where students have access to the all-weather surfaces and extensive indoor facilities at this local venue. We also have a fantastic on-site gym for students and staff to use with both cardio and resistance machines and free weights area.
