Longley Park Sixth Form Academy VS Sheffield Wednesday CP B
FIRST HALF
A tough game after coming top of our league last term. All games won. We have a gone up a league and it showed. Sheffield Wednesday started strong, although they looked a young team, they were skilled and pushed us back in the first half with excellent defending and skilled crossing right onto the target. A few times nearly ended up in the back of the net, if it was not for our skilled Goal stopper Tim in the net first half. Ended in a stalemate with either side unable to breakthrough.
SECOND HALF
After a few subs and formation changes, Longley were able to find the gaps down the wing and open up with some skilled driving with the ball into the opponent's half and into the penalty area for the first goal 12 minutes into the second. Fantastic. After that the game was backwards and forwards and became very open for both sides and Sheffield looked to equalise, but Longley stood strong.
Nearly full time and a last push by Longley grabbed us the next goal with 20 seconds on the clock... a very tight game indeed.
