Longley Park Students Take a Stand for Human Rights
Amnesty International is delighted to celebrate Longley Park Sixth Form’s powerful commitment to defending human rights. Longley Park has become the first academy in Sheffield in over ten years to establish an Amnesty International Youth Group – a huge achievement led by passionate, socially conscious students. To mark the occasion, students set up a lunchtime stall inviting the whole school community to contribute personal messages and drawings of solidarity for people around the world whose rights are under threat.
The response was inspiring, with students from all backgrounds coming together to show compassion, unity, and support. Mohammed Hamarashid, a member of the LPSFA Student Senate and the Amnesty Youth Group, shared: “It is an amazing experience to see all of the students from different backgrounds supporting people all around the world who are advocating for human rights and the wellbeing of the world.”
