How can I get my results?
The process for results days will be slightly different this year. This is to maintain good social distancing whilst at the same time not keeping you waiting for your results. Your results will be available on Cedar from 8am on Thursday 13 August. You will also receive an email confirming that your results have been released. Please make sure you are able to log in to CEDAR in advance of Thursday. If you have forgotten your password or experience any problems, please email itsupport@brigantiatrust.net. Your results slips will be posted out on the same day.
What do I do when I get my results?
For those of you who have university offers, check your UCAS track to see if you have had your offer confirmed. If your results fall short of the conditions that your firm choice university has asked for, ring them as soon as possible. If you explain your grades then there is a good chance of them accepting you anyway, or offering you an alternative course close to your original. This is not guaranteed but over the years we have found that Universities can be quite flexible. If you have not been accepted by your firm or insurance choice, you will be able to go through Clearing. Follow the instructions on UCAS for how to do this. Universities will be busy, so please be patient, keep trying and stay on the phone to speak to them.
How can I access support with my results if I need it?
We are here for you and will be available via phone all day. If you call one of the numbers below, you can get advice and if needed, we can make an appointment for you to come in to the building for some face to face advice and guidance.

How have exam boards produced grades this year?
OFQUAL, the exams regulator, set out arrangements for the awarding of grades this summer following the cancellation of all exams due to the coronavirus pandemic. Schools and Colleges were required to submit a centre assessed grade (CAG) and a rank order for students who were due to sit an exam in the Summer series. The CAG is a grade that school or college would expect a student to have achieved had they sat the exam as planned. The CAG also takes into account how students with similar prior qualifications have performed over the last three years. OFQUAL have made it clear that schools and colleges cannot discuss the CAG or details of the rank order with students, parents or carers.
Following the submission of these grades, a level of standardisation will have taken place nationally to ensure a fair distribution of grades and that no school or college has been unduly harsh or lenient in the awarding of grades. It is the exam board that has determined the final grade.
If my grades are lower than what I was expecting, can I resit?
If your grades are lower than expected, there is an opportunity to resit in the Autumn series. There is a lot to consider when deciding whether to resit. Give us a call and we can talk to you about what would be involved in this. It is likely you would sit an exam in October/November and receive a result in December. There will be a cost to sit an exam. If you do wish to resit, you need to have completed the relevant paperwork by Friday 21st August. If you are thinking about a resit, please contact Reception and leave your details. A member of the Leadership Team will be in touch.
Can I appeal against the result I have been awarded?
The vast majority of students are going to receive grades that are fair and that will enable them to progress to their next stage. If however you are unhappy with a grade you have been awarded, you cannot appeal directly to the exam board. Schools or colleges have to be the ones that submit appeals, and will do so if they believe there has been an error or that the moderation process has not produced a reliable result. If you believe you have evidence of bias or discrimination in how a grade was determined, please contact Reception and leave your details. A member of the Sixth Form Leadership Team will then contact you. All appeals must be received in writing by the Sixth Form for investigation by Thursday 3rd September.
