You will find out about the English legal system and how law influences our daily lives. Assignments are designed to give you a real sense of what it is like to work in the legal professions and visits to courts in session and discussions with guest speakers will be part of the course.

Assignments are designed to give you a real sense of what it is like to work in the legal professions and visits to courts in session and discussions with guest speakers will be part of the course. The skills you will develop on the course, such as being able to see both sides of an argument, effective research skills and solving complex legal problems will be of value to you in other areas of life.

You will learn about the courts that deal with civil law disputes and looking at the method used to resolve them. You will also develop an understanding of the way the criminal justice system works within the UK. The skills and knowledge that you develop within this course will be a good foundation for progression to your next steps.

This course offers visits and with external local and international Law businesses. Trips to visit employers allow students to see how the world of law actually works. Trips to Local Crown and Magistrates courts allow classroom practice to be observed in live courts situations. Trips also to London and the High court has allowed students to understand the processes linked to this subject.

A number of specifications will be changing and prospectus entries are based on information we have to date. This means that course content may be subject to change.

What can I do next?
