The course covers Biology, Chemistry and Physics and the skills needed by scientists to collect, analyse and interpret data.
Details
You will study two strands which include Principles of Applied Science and the Application of Science. No one week is the same as you will experience a mix of both practical and theory sessions to give you the foundations for progression to the next level. You will explore all of the three sciences and develop skills and knowledge to collect, analyse and interpret data. Throughout the whole course, your lessons and assignments will be based on real applications of science such as forensic science, food technology and environmental science to help you to make the next steps towards an exciting and successful future.
A number of specifications will be changing and prospectus entries are based on information we have to date. This means that course content may be subject to change.
How will it be delivered?
You will be assessed through practical projects and assignments and two external exams.
What can I do next?
Studying Level 2 Science will support you to move onto Level 3 study. For many of our students this usually means progressing to the Level 3 Applied Science in order to extend and develop their knowledge and skills across all three sciences. Students can choose to follow a different path such as Health and Social Care to support a career within the health sector. Every year we have a large number of students who have successfully achieved at level 2 and 3 and move onto higher education, apprenticeships or science related employment.
