Students and staff at Longley Park Sixth Form Academy are celebrating another year of exceptional achievement as results are released across both A Level and vocational qualifications. With a combined picture of academic excellence, applied skill, and personal growth, this year’s outcomes reflect the dedication, ambition, and resilience of our learners.
Key Results
Across A Levels, students achieved a remarkable 99% pass rate, with over a third securing high grades (A*, A, or B)—a 6% improvement on last year. Standout performances were seen in Mathematics, English Language, Physics, and 3D Design, all of which saw significant increases in top-grade attainment. Psychology, Biology, Sociology, Criminology, Law, and Business also delivered strong results, with many students progressing to competitive university courses and apprenticeships. Creative subjects such as Fine Art, Photography, and 3D Design maintained perfect pass rates, with students producing work that earned recognition from external moderators and university admissions teams.
Vocational qualifications also delivered outstanding results. Extended Diplomas in Applied Science, Business, and Health & Social Care achieved near-perfect pass rates, with high-grade attainment reaching up to 92% in Applied Science. Every student on the Diploma programmes passed, with 83% achieving top grades and 100% earning Merit or higher. Extended Certificates in Applied Law and Health & Social Care were particularly impressive, with high-grade rates of 88% and 85% respectively.
Creative vocational pathways such as UAL Game Art & Design and Art & Design maintained 100% pass rates, with over half of students achieving Merit or higher. The T-Level in Education and Early Years also saw a 100% pass rate, with nearly 90% of students earning Merit or above.
Principal Jamie Davies praised the results, saying:
"These outcomes reflect the incredible commitment of our students and the unwavering support of our staff. Whether pursuing academic or vocational routes, our learners have shown that excellence comes in many forms. We are proud of every individual and excited for the futures they are now stepping into."
CEO of Brigantia Learning Trust, Mike Westerdale, adds:
“These results are a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when ambition meets opportunity. Our students are not only achieving excellence, they’re becoming confident, capable young people ready to shape the future.”
Students from both pathways are now progressing to top universities, specialist colleges, apprenticeships, and employment across a wide range of sectors from medicine, law, and engineering to creative arts, education, and health care.
As results day unfolds, Longley Park celebrates not just grades, but the journeys, growth, and futures of its students. Their success is a testament to the power of education, and the strength of a community that believes in every learner.
