Hello again, Longley Park. Let me update you about what I have been doing as your elected representative and member of the Youth Parliament!

Earlier this November, I had the amazing opportunity to represent you on a regional level in the House of Commons which was not only a great experience but enlightening to network with others all over the country and promote the fantastic work we do in Sheffield.

We were able to engage in a full working day debating, meeting MPs, and of course, listening to Mr Speaker! After a day of debate regarding issues addressed in the Make your Mark vote, we decided the most pressing matter at hand would be the cost-of-living crisis, and I have taken this away with me and will also be communicating this with the Cabinet here in Sheffield and building a plan of action for how to help those in need.

As a young leader for a SEND project representing Yorkshire and Humber, we are happy to announce that we will be holding our final event to showcase the remarkable work done over the last 6 months. It’s essential to address the implications the education system and provisions around the country have on SEND people, and through the project, we are able to shine a light on what can be done and how to get involved with improving the lives of those with educational needs and disabilities and overall getting decision makers to hear our motions.

In other news, other members of the Sheffield Youth Cabinet and I have created a short film with South Yorkshire police on sexual assault and harassment. This animation is already proving popular and hopefully will convey the emotion of many women and girls across the country. I have been a member of the Police Advisory Board for a while, so being given this opportunity has been truly an honour.

Feel free to check it out! My Pockets - be THAT mate

I am also being interviewed on Radio Sheffield on Thursday 1st December at 7.50am so tune in!

As always, keep continuing to voice your concerns to me via email or in person, and if you want to get involved in politics, there are a number of ways to become politically active, from afar or in person, with decision-makers, so I’d be more than happy to let anyone know how to do so!
